Hydroseeding

hydroseeding-152 Goroots offer a Hydroseeding as a core activity. We have invested in the best equipment so that we can offer a no-nonsense service. Our equipment is well maintained and ready to go. We use the best materials as well as high quality seeds. Our service creates the optimum result from the site conditions.

Terravent Decompaction

air-spade-152Terravent is a process designed for the alleviation of the effects of compaction in all cases. The Terravent works using high pressure Gas to blast open channels in sub soil strata allowing drainage and air flow around plant and tree roots. The Terravent can also inject at the same time.

Air Spade

Goroots offer the Air Spade (a device that Decompacts soils by compressed air) for use in excavations where there is a risk to tree roots or delicate underground services. Operated by compressed air the Air Spade removes soil quickly and efficiently leaving even the finest roots exposed.

Posishell

posishell-application-250Goroots and Landfill Technologies Inc. (manufacturers of Posishell Products)  are pleased to introduce Posishell to the UK. Posishell is a system of water proof environmental coatings.

We  have a range of recent Hydroseeding Plant always ensuring all our hydroseeders are less than 3 years old.

Our Terravent has been adapted to our own design so that we have no access limitations and can use the Terravent even in small areas such as rear basement gardens.

Our Air Spade can either excavate for investigations or break up the surface for shallow decompaction. The Air Spade is an effective and practical method of breaking up soils.

We have often been asked to rotavate prior to hydroseeding. Having looked at a range of tractors we settled on an Equal Wheeled Mountain Tractor which is designed to work safely on steep slopes

With our Mountain Tractor we have the rotavator together with a flail mower and a stone burier. This combination allows us to work on steep slopes and remote sites.

large-tree-kew250We have considerable experience and a practical "hands on" approach to any project.

We have worked all over the UK and Overseas. Our Hydroseeder will fit into a standard sea container for easy sea or road transportation to anywhere in the world. We can be ready to hydroseed within hours of unpacking the container.

We offer a service anywhere in the UK for any of our services. If you are looking at a project anywhere then please call and we will give you our help and advice.

When deciding on the best seeding methods there are a number of things to consider.

Speed of Germination seeHydroseeding steep bank over Jute mattingds will germinate when they absorb sufficient moistuire with broadcast seeding this can take a significant time if there is little rainfall. With hydroseeding this is less of a problem.

Even distribution of seed: ordinary seeding is a bit hit and miss where as hydroseeding offers even seed distribution because the seeds are pre mixed in a slurry which is sprayed on to the ground. offering much better control.
Seed Adhesion The ability to adhere to steep slopes and embankments with conventional seeding it is difficult to get the seed to stay in place during rain and wind. Hydroseeding allows the seeds to be bound in a matrix of heavy mulch which contains a tackifier which acts as aglue sticking the seed to the underlying soil. This is important in Soil Erosion Hydroseeding.

Good Root Structure The seed starts growing in the moist mulch rather than the soil which means stronger root structures and more healthy grasses

Most clients we deal with want the combination of faster and more even germination. With Hydroseeding a Domestic LawnHydroseeding germination is more rapid and even, particularly when there is limited scope for watering. The reason for this is all seed need four elements in order to germinate. These are as follows

Moisture, Hydroseeding Mulch is a product made from either virgin wood fibres, recycled paper or a mixture of both. There are other types of mulch made from Cotton Waste and Goroots have tried out a product based on shredded Carpet. All of these products have one thing in common the ability to absorb and retain moisture.

Fertilizer, Added to the Hydroseeding Slurry is a fertilizer that is generally in the form slow release pellets. A specially formulated 6:9:6 pre germination fertilizer has proved to give the best results. A liquid fertilizer based on plant extracts as well as Humic Acid offer an Organic alternative.

Light& Heat, This is determined by the time of year that the seeding takes place with Hydroseeding the seeding season is extended because of the Mulch's ability to cocoon the seeds and protect them from the excesses of heat and drought.
