HydroMulching is generally the same as Hydroseeding but the quantity and types of mulches are different.
Hydromulching uses much greater quanties typically a hydroseeding slurry would apply the mulch at a rate of 1000kg/ha where as Hydromulching starts at a rate of 2000kg/ha there is no upper limit. The advantage of Hydromulching is that there is much more ability to retain moisture. The increased thickness of the mulch means that this layer acts as a nursery and growing medium for the seed. Hydromulching can be used on areas where the fertility is poor it can help avoid the situation that once the young plantlets consume the minerals in the fertilizer there is nothing left for them to survive on so they die. Hydromulching Materials
Hydromulch Applications. Hydromulch is suitable for all sites where hydraulic seeding is considered in particular where there is poor top soil coverage. Hydromulch and Soil Erosion. Hydromulching is best used with erosion control matting when the matting is placed over the hydromulch because the thick layers of mulch tend to prevent the seedlings attaching them selves to the bed rock.
Hydromulch and GoRoots. We at GoRoots belive in hydromulching and ask anybody considering and sort of hydraulic seed application to consider the benefits of a thicker and deeper mulch bed. In Hydroseeding the mulch is applied so thinly that it often only serves as a guide to show where the contractor has been and has little benefit. We apply all ot our hydroseeding and hydromulching at the maximum rate we are able to do this because we have access to a EU manufactured product than can be procured at a fraction of the cost of traditional US manufactured products. The thicker the slurry the better the out come. If you have any questions please call or email

Hydroseeding involves mixing a slurry of seed, a growing medium (mulch) and fertilizer together with a variety of other products such as Tackifier and wetting agents.
